All attendees to IASP sponsored/organized events are required to accept the following policies:
IASP is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Should we ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified when using the Site, you can be assured that IASP will use the information in accordance with this privacy statement.
IASP may modify this Policy from time to time, effective immediately upon posting to the Site or such other period as required by applicable law. Your continued access or use of the Site constitutes your acceptance of the provisions of the then-current Policy. The current Policy applies to all information gathered or obtained about you at any time.
You can use some of IASP’s services without giving IASP your personal data. Much of the information on the IASP website is available to visitors who are not IASP members. You can enter only the minimum amount of information (name and contact information) to your IASP profile, and you can edit your profile at any time. For IASP members, additional information is required (details below in the Membership section). Some personal information is necessary so that IASP can supply you with services you have purchased or requested, and can authenticate you so that we know it is you and not someone else. You may manage your IASP subscriptions and you may opt-out of receiving certain communications at any time.
To ensure that users are provided with accurate information about their accounts and that content is geared to the interests of that user, we may ask for personal information when a user registers for, logs on to, or visits our websites or other online services, or participates in activities on our websites.We may request users’ personal information when they do one or more of the following:

When you become an IASP member, we collect information about you, including (but not limited to) your name, email address, mailing address, phone number, designation, place of work, primary professional focus, primary basic research area, and primary medical specialty area (if applicable). We may also require proof of status from an individual’s university. Members may edit their profile at any time to change, add, or make private personal information.
We process your personal information for membership services; to deliver member benefits to you; and to inform you of IASP-related events, content, and other benefits or opportunities associated with your IASP membership. IASP may also use this information to help the organization understand its members’ needs and interests in order to provide relevant products and services.
When you apply for a grant, we will collect, process, and store some personal data that relate to and identify you. This information may include, but is not limited to, name, mailing address, email address, job title, employer, education institution and degrees, professional training and/or certifications, funding sources and amounts, professional specialty, current work projects, project collaborators, professional independence, birth country, current country, letters of recommendation, past awards or honors, membership status, membership levels, a curriculum vitae, and any other information collected on an application to the extent necessary to process and review your application and manage any grant, award, fellowship, camp, or school that we offer. We use this information to monitor historical and current trends in funding, countries of successful and applying applicants, numbers of applicants, and diversity among applicants. We also use the data to notify applicants if they did or did not receive any of those awards grants, fellowships, or camp/school acceptances. Recipients will receive additional communications related to acceptance, announcements, or registration to process and publicize that funding.
IASP offers publications for its members and the general public. IASP may provide a link to another organization’s website (for example, databases) that may contain useful and relevant content. To access this content, you will leave the IASP website. IASP is not responsible or liable for content provided by these third-party websites or personal information they may collect from you.
You may subscribe to some IASP publications without becoming a member. For example, you may sign up to receive the IASP’s PAIN Research Forum e-newsletter or communications related to the consumer website, RELIEF. You may subscribe to providing us with at least your first name and last name, an email address, and the country in which you live. IASP does not share this information with any third party other than to provide you with e-newsletters and other communications from IASP that it believes may be of interest.
You may manage your IASP subscriptions by subscribing or unsubscribing at any time. Please note that if you have set your browser to block cookies, your ability to unsubscribe may be impacted. IASP sponsors events including in-person conferences, workshops, education courses, webinars, and meetings (collectively “events”). If you register for one of our events and you are a member, IASP uses the information in your member account to provide you with information and services associated with the event. If you are not a member and you register for one of our events, we will collect your name and contact information and use it to provide you with information and services associated with the event.
IASP also collects information from presenters and lecturers at its events, including name, employer, title, specialty, contact information, and a photograph. IASP may also collect voluntarily-provided evaluation information provided by event attendees. In addition, IASP may make and store a recording of the event in certain instances.
IASP may keep a record of an individual’s participation in IASP events as an attendee or presenter, which may be used to provide membership services (such as, for example, to tell you about other events and publications). It may also be used to help IASP understand its members’ needs and interests to better tailor our products and services to meet those needs.
If you want to have your information included in an attendee list or to receive information from sponsors, co-sponsors and/or exhibitors, you can express your preferences when you register for events, sign up at any of the sponsor/co-sponsor/exhibitors’ booths/tables at the event, or contact the IASP directly at IASPDesk@iasp-pain.org. By allowing exhibitors and sponsors to scan your badge, you consent to the sharing of your contact information (name, company, title, and email address) with them. If you do not wish for an exhibitor or sponsor to receive this information, do not permit them to scan your badge. To withdraw your consent, you should contact the exhibitor or sponsor.
If you attend a voluntary Symposium sponsored by a third party, your badge may be scanned using RFID as you enter the room and that information will be shared with the organizer of the Symposium. Notice of this scanning and sharing will be given at the entrance to the room. If you do not wish to provide consent for this sharing, do not attend the voluntary Symposium.
If an event is sponsored in whole or in part by an entity other than IASP, IASP may provide an attendee list to sponsors, co-sponsors and exhibitors. IASP may also allow sponsors, co-sponsors, and/or exhibitors to send you material by mail/e-mail once per sponsored event, in which case the IASP will share your mailing address directly with the sponsor/exhibitor. If you wish to have your information included in an attendee list or to receive information from sponsors, co-sponsors, and/or exhibitors, you can express your preferences when you register for events or you may contact IASP at IASPDesk@iasp-pain.org.
You may choose to purchase goods or services from IASP using a payment card. Typically, payment card information is provided directly by you, via the IASP website, into the PCI/DSS-compliant payment processing service to which the IASP subscribes, and IASP does not, itself, process or store the card information.What information you provide IASP:

Information from the cookies is used to gauge page popularity, analyze traffic patterns on our site, and guide development of other improvements to our site. However, some functionality on our website, our product or service check-out process, and products and services may be disabled if you decline to accept cookies. We may use your contact details to provide you with information about our work, events, services, initiatives, and/or products that we consider of likely interest to you (for example, about courses or events you previously attended, actions the IASP has taken on behalf of its members, or career development services).
Certain laws that apply to the IASP (for example, the GDPR in EU Member States) may require us to obtain your consent to provide you with this information via certain channels (for example, email, SMS, or telephone). How long do we keep your personal information?

IASP is dedicated to providing a harassment-free conference experience for everyone, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, or religion. We do not tolerate harassment of conference participants in any form. All communication should be appropriate for a professional audience including people of diverse backgrounds and cultures. Sexual language and imagery is not appropriate for the conference.

Company Sponsored Symposia are meetings planned and supported by eligible companies* as part of the IASP Virtual Series on Pain & Expo. The supporting company is required to provide educational support for the supported symposium they request, for which funds will be used toward the expenses of the platform.
IASP will provide the supporting company with one of a limited number of symposia slots and will help the supporting company publicize its symposium via the virtual series e-newsletter. The supporting company is responsible for the content development, speaker selection, the final presented presentation and all logistical arrangements (latter in conjunction with the virtual series technical team).
